The Dangers of Blogging in Black and White

December 21, 2007 |

Okay, so yesterday I posted the first episode of “Real Estate in Black and White.” Over all, I think people liked it. I am working on some new episodes for the future.

When I first showed it to my wife, Kari (also a REALTOR), she loved it. Actually, the idea for using “The Girl from Ipanema” as the soundtrack was all hers. Truth be told, she is usually the inspiration or source of most of my best content. Being the very loving (and also very witty) person that she is, she decided to do a little “remix” of my first episode.

She has titled it, “The Dangers of Letting Your Husband Blog.” The ugly mug is mine, but the storyline and the slides are hers.

Those of you who know Kari will find her humor in it right away. Those of you who don’t know her will wish you did. As if I needed another reason to love her.

Oh, and in case Greg was wondering, this one really IS for the RE.net blogosphere.

Disclosure: My reaction to this video has absolutely no value.

My reaction: Keep doing them and let your real audience tell you what they think of them with their actions. It’s a good experiment. Sometimes you have to be a lab rat.

Mr. Zebra - I think what you are doing is “niche” marketing. You can’t please everyone all the time - nor should you try. Both my business partner/husband and I love your videos. Keep it up, guinea pig!

Screw the RE.net. It’s your blog!

I think this is great and people will identify with something different and the connection with your wife!

    Keep up the great work.

    Kuddos, Daniel.
I’ve been flying all over the internet trying to keep up with this pot of opinions that is spinning. Be who you are, follow your heart on how to market - the people who respond will be the ones who will refer to you and/or who will work with you.
I would gladly love to refer people to you or hire you myself if I were to move to VA!
Everybody has an opinion…just do what works for you and ignore those who diss.
    Keep up the good work!

    I liked the video.

Sometimes I think messages are lost in blotted pontification.

Getting a message down to its basic, is a good thing and will connect with a certian audience.

Others will find these types of messages too simple and not get it.

Not getting it opens the door to creativity to find a way to commicate a similiar message they too will get.

    Good Job.
